Scissors reclaimed and turned into beastly spiders

The sharp blades of scissors can be quiet synonymous with the sharp cut legs of spiders. I realized this only after I watched the pictures of the scissor spiders, which artist Christopher Locke has created rather deftly. These crawling and creeping spiders give you an impression of being among the most ferocious species of spiders that will make your skin bleed and cause pain. But, obviously you need not worry; it is just another form of art that uses materials that would have otherwise been waste products.

Scissors Confiscated by the TSA Welded into Spiders

Now the question arises, are scissors a waste? Well, they are not a waste for most of us, but definitely, for the Transportation Security Administration, scissors are among the countless personal objects that they confiscate from people at the airport terminals, and, therefore, in theory they are a waste for the airport authorities. Christopher availed an endless supply of such scissors and welded them into horrifying metallic spiders that obviously fascinated many of us. Christopher never uses filler material scissors, only the best ones, so that his spiders look rich and sophisticated.

Metal scrap has many positive points, like they art pieces that you create out of them will be sturdy and long lasting. They can be exhibited, transported with greater ease in comparison to fragile art pieces made out of paper or cardboard or the like. These reclaimed scissors too have been leased with a new life , even though in the form and shape of the obnoxious little beast of a spider.
