Ochre Barn: Old barn transformed into low budget residential building

Owned by British experts of Carl Turner Architects, an architectural studio, an old abandoned barn in Norfolk has been turned into an amazing transformation by combining creativity, comfort of modern living and the immediacy of the countryside. Named Ochre Barn, this new creative country creation is considered by its authors as an experiment that gave them an option to try and learn. Newly transformed old rustic barn was a warm and comfortable space to create, work and think.

Charming low-budget conversion of a barn in the English provinces

Apart from the essential upgrades, the colorful visual landmarks of the interiors still preserve and keep several historical elements of the structure cautiously. Polished concrete replaced the dirt floor barn. The exteriors is still virtually unchanged since till date no additional decorations are required by the simple, yet appealing bricks and tile.

According to authors of the project, it took almost five years for its construction because of the size of the shed and complexity of the problem of reconstruction of its quality within the fairly limited budget. It was mostly the original ideas and solutions due to which its uniqueness was achieved. This romantic reconstruction project amounted $397 980, which considering the European standards is quite small if compared to the great square of building.
