Nike launches its most sustainable shoe till date

The design of shoes has varied enormously with time and region. Recently Nike, the major publicly traded sportswear and equipment supplier, unveiled its all new HTM Flyknit collection, which includes Flyknit Racer and Flyknit Trainer +. These shoes are designed by Mark Parker, Tinker Hatfield, and Hiroshi Fujiwara. The shoes are lightweight, ultra breathable and formfitting to act as second skin.

Nike Debuts Its Lightest And Most Sustainable Shoe

The material used for making these shoes includes specially engineered yarn and fabric. The Flyknit Trainer+ weighs 7.7 oz, comes in three colors and had been created as an everyday running shoe. However, the Flyknit Racer shoe comes only in neon yellow color, weighs 5.6 oz and is designed especially for marathon running. The shoe is 19 percent lighter than the previous shoe, Nike Zoom Streak 3.

The one piece upper of the shoe helps cut down waste as it does not use multiple materials unlike other traditional sports shoes. Its minimalist design reduces the overall weight of the shoe, without compromising on the fit or the comfort.

According to the company, the inspiration for designing such a shoe came from a runner feedback who wanted a shoe with the quality of a sock. For knitting the upper part of the shoe the company worked with group of programmers, engineers and designers who helped in creating this final proprietary technology.
