Cruise giant Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has recently announced the purchase of 75 acres in Harvest Caye, Southern Belize for its eco-friendly cruise destination development plan. With plans of investing approximately $50 million NCL has teamed up with Idea Inc. of Orlando, Florida for designing of this beautiful cruise destination.
Harvest Caye, Southern Belize:
Harvest Caye, the area that Norwegian Cruise Line has bought is made up of two islands in the Stann Creek. These two adjoining islands belonging to the Toledo District were previously approved for resort development along with an airstrip.

NCL has roped in industry leading designer IDEA Inc of Florida to redesign the Belize Cruise Destination to make it a one-of-its kind spot for the ultimate visitor experience. Famed to be one of the leading designers of all branded ports and destinations for tourism, hospitality and entertainment industries, IDEA is an experienced campaigner when it comes to working with Private or government developers and independent agencies in locations such as Florida, Mexico, Honduras, Bahamas, Alaska, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Marten, St. Kitts and the like.
The Eco-Friendly Destination Development Plan:
With NCLs fleet expanding to 15 ships in 2017, it is expected that number of guests sailing on the Western Caribbean would see a huge leap as much as becoming double than what it is currently. With a view to bringing in 4times the number of guests to Belize in the future, and as a part of its constant efforts to look for new and amazing destination, NCL aims to develop a eco-friendly sustainable destination design that would play the dual role of protecting the natural beauty of Belize as well as retain the flavor of the local culture of this tropical hot spot.

- A mainland connection point for inland tours and travels
