Cambai: Relive the nostalgia of reclining admits nature in a tree house

Considering how human beings have evolved from primates that seem to spend plenty of time on the trees, if not all of it, we should not really have much of a trouble with a life on treetops. Well, evolution has ensured that we do not have the same skills to keep ourselves perched on top of tress, or even get there. But designer Beate Killi has decided to give us a bit of help with that with an installation called ‘Cambai’. Now, all of us love tree houses and some of us even might have given them a try when we were kids, but this one goes beyond that.

Back into the trees

The installation can be set up in parks, or even better, it can be used for camping purposes and even maybe as shelter space in some of those wildlife reserves that offer you a chance to stay overnight and experience the sights and sounds of the forest at night. The installation is simple and comes with wheels that allow you to quickly and effortlessly tug it away when you want it removed. The hanging ladders seem like a fun way to climb up into the Cambai and lighting installation on the inside should serve well even after sundowner.

The name of this simple and ergonomic tree house is derived from cambium, the growing ring of a tree and ‘Kombai’, a tribe that apparently still live in tree houses. We are pretty sure they are far more adept at life away from the safety of the ground than we are, but this cool contraption does offer a wonderful way to spend some time close to nature and maybe even share a beautiful sunset with someone you love.
