Eco friendly showers to bathe clean in green style

We all love to take a long, refreshing shower to begin the day or even to end a long, tiring day. While showering is a great option to get fresh, it uses up quite a lot of water. So, we now have eco friendly showers that can actually refresh you while saving a lot of water. In this feature, we bring you 10 of these.

Eco Shower

We kick off the list with an aptly named shower called the Eco Shower. Created by industrial designer Paul Frigout, the Eco Shower heats the water by itself without using electricity. To achieve this seemingly difficult task, the Eco Shower uses a water-powered turbine inside the showerhead. The shower has pressure blocks in its base to pump water. It also regulates the flow of water by measuring the weight of the individual. All this saves up plenty of electricity, and this is a clean, green way to shower.

Smart Shower

A shower during the mornings and evenings and a work basin during the rest of the day. Yes, that is how smart the Smart Shower is. This cool piece of bathing kit functions as an enclosed shower featuring aerated technology and uses just 1/6th of the amount of water as compared to conventional showerheads. That is not all. It also has a heat exchangers that conserves up to 50% of the heat energy. The best part about the Smart Shower is that it can function as a work basin for domestic activities, thus saving a lot of space by virtue of being a dual-purpose unit.

Solar Beach Shower

Beach bums know how sticky things can get once they get out of the water and soak up some sun on the sandy beaches. A warm shower to wash off all that sticky salt and sand becomes a dire need. The Solar Beach Shower does just this and while you are it, you get your own 6X4X4 private enclosure. As its name suggests, the Solar Beach Shower is powered by the sun, thus making it a green shower that is portable too. Talking of portability, you can lug the light and easy unit to set up the Solar Beach Shower on your beach-hopping sprees. This portability also makes the solar shower a great option for campers and hikers too.

Eco Drop Shower

Now, here is something that just won’t let you linger endlessly in the warm, fuzzy environs of your shower. The Eco Drop Shower actually has a few spiky undulations that get bigger as your shower time increases. This, obviously is designed to make your feel uncomfortable as well as indicate the long duration of the shower. Either way, you wouldn’t be able to peacefully indulge in your long shower. We certainly wouldn’t want one of these adorning our bath, but people with kids who station themselves at the shower may love this idea.

DA/Spa Shower

Designer Victor M. Aleman has designed this terrific-looking shower-spa that will give you a shower as well as a hydro-massage using just 20 liters of water. Say hello to the DA/Spashower-spa. The Da/Spa does all this by continually recycling water by electricity. The water flows through a purification system that regulates and maintains its temperature and pressure. Though this concept will help save a lot of water, we really don’t see the point in saving water by using a lot more electricity to recycle it.

Solaria

Here’s another concept that we’re sure not too many of you have even dreamed about. The Solaria is a shower system that functions on the sun’s heat to warm or cool its water. It also has 34 strings on its exterior that will use the wind to produce sounds like a guitar or a harp. So, all this means that your showering experience gets some music too. Alternatively, the Solaria can also be used to generate power, thus functioning as a power station. Versatile yes, but the Solaria still is a concept design.

The Fog Shower

The Fog Shower is a shower minus the droplets. Perplexing isn’t it, but that is how you can have a five-minute shower with just two liters of water. The Fog Shower is a concept by Brazilian design student Joao Diego Schimansky. The concept uses a system by which water droplets are condensed into a microscopic mist. So, you will be showered by a directed fog of water vapor than water droplets, thus saving a lot of water and energy. Watch out for this concept design, which might become a commercial reality sometime in the future.

Solar Fizz Portable Garden Shower

Why do people love bathing at the waterfalls? Usually, it has to do with surrounding themselves with a torrent of water in the outdoors. Now, you can replicate the same, albeit on a smaller scale in your own backyard. Enter the Solar Fizz Portable Garden Shower. True to its name, the Solar Fizz is powered by the sun to heat the water. It can be set up in less than a minute, making it ideal for campers. Overall, the Solar Fizz Portable Garden Shower is a product that is as fun as it is green.

SunShower

The SunShower is another outdoor solar shower that will be a fitting addition to your swimming pool. Using the sun to heat the water up, the SunShower has a unique design mainly composed of a radiator system that stores as well regulates the heat of the water. The SunShower measures 2.5m wide x 2m high and is crafted out of aluminum. With theSunShower, you can say goodbye to ungainly water tanks even while making a style statement in a clean, green way.

Pensar Indulgence Shower

We just saw the Fog Shower that conserves water by converting water droplets into a fine fog. Now, we have the Pensar Indulgence Shower that will convert water droplets into a fine mist. Unlike the Fog Shower, the Indulgence Shower operates in three cycles. You will begin with a one-minute rinse, move on to a four-minute mist and then end with a two-minute rinse. Designed to give you the best of both worlds, this shower will help conserve almost 56 percent of water. Practical, yet eco friendly, that is the Pensar Indulgence Shower for you.
