V60 Plug-in Hybrid: Volvo improvises with unboxing and teardown videos!

The last thing you would be thinking about when you are buying a high-end, uber-cool Volvo hybrid is to pull stickers and a giant box off of it, much like in the case of your new iPad or iPhone 4S. But that is exactly what Volvo has done. They have decided to unravel their latest plug-in hybrid that has stolen the show off late in a way that has the denizens of the web world talking. And if that does not get the word out, what they did next surely did. They followed the unboxing by ripping it to its bare bones with a ‘teardown’ video!

The approach is indeed unique and it is a lot more fun to watch a car unboxed in this fashion than in the traditional promos that we get. While it plays off on smartphones, we are pretty sure those at Apple are also having a good little laugh watching this, in case they ever come across the video. The best part of the video is obviously the teardown which showcases the 2.4-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel engine at the front and the 70-horsepower electric motor that sits in the rear.

The V60 has already received some rave reviews with many hailing it as one of the best in its class, if not the absolute best. It offers an option of a pure electric drive or complete diesel powered journey or a smart combination of both. It travels 32-miles on its electric engine that comes with a 12-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Not sure when and if it will cross the Atlantic, but for now the V60 is set to scorch the roads of Europe. Enjoy the videos till then…
