QuimeraRR AEDC: World’s first all electric car built for drifting

For those who are not really familiar, drifting is a motorsport that involves purposefully oversteering a car for the sake of the show. It is apparently a serious sport and professionals from all across the planet compete each year in contests that are generally judged on speed, line, angle and the show factor. Well, next time there is one, we will be on the lookout for the QuimeraRR AEDC that we see here. The car in the picture is dubbed by its makers as the ‘World’s first electric car that is built exclusively for drifting.’

The QuimeraRR AEDC is the first of its kind and uses an all electric motor in a competition that has been exclusive to fossil fuel powered vehicles so far. Organizers believe that electric cars still do not have the oomph that brings audiences to the sport. Many companies out there have already tried out various forms of motorsport vehicles to debunk this notion and QuimeraRR AEDC plans to do the same with respect to drifting.

Eleven judges will sit over and pick out the best design for the AEDC and everyone is welcome to put in an entry. The AEDC will put on its first all electric drift show in 2013 and we will surely keep an eye on the car that is taking electric engine into the drifting world.
