Nation’s Largest Electric Vehicle charging network rolled out by Governor Pat Quinn

U.S largest network of fast charging electrical vehicle station was recently rolled out by Governor Patt Quinn. This comes as a part of the initiative to bring sustainability across Illinois. This initiative will support use of electrical vehicles besides creating additional avenues of jobs in transportation sector.

Governor Pat Quinn Rolls Out Nation’s Largest Electric Vehicle Fast-Charging Network

Electric vehicles can be charged in 30 minutes and the service is expected to be available in seven tollway oases. This service comes as a part of the endeavor of Governor Patt Quinn to make Illinois the greenest state in United States. The Governor hoped that Illinois would be able to support green jobs and help people avail affordable travel options that are environment friendly with the launch of this service.

Jean Howe, Chief Executive Officer of the company providing the service seemed happy and expressed his pleasure to be part of this initiative and appreciated the concern of the Governor to turn Illinois into a green state. About 90 electrical vehicle charges had been established by the time of filing of this report and more level III chargers for Illinois tollway are in the process of finalization.

O Hare Oasis is one of the four places where the charger facility has been initiated. Similar service began simultaneously at Lake Forest Oasis, Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis and Des Plaines Oasis. People using gas powered vehicles can hope for a cleaner and greener Illinois with the launch of this service.

The Governor was hopeful that the launch of the largest electrical vehicle charging network in Illinois will motivate other states to follow suit and come up with similar initiatives, thus contributing towards the vision of a cleaner and greener country.
