Kaipan launches fuel efficient Kaipan 16

`Go Green’ is the buzzword these days and it has also touched the automakers. Latest to join the bandwagon to manufacture green cars is Czech automaker Kaipan, which was recently in news for presenting a prototype of the electric Roadster Kaipan Voltage. The company unveiled its latest zero emission eco friendly car named Kaipan 16 at the Brno Motor Show.

This car, with a unique and innovative look, is powered with a Turbo 1.2 L with an output of 77 kW (105 horsepower). This engine delivers a torque of 175 Nm. This car is fuel efficient as well because its combined fuel economy is 5.4L per 100 km. This green car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 6.9 seconds. It can hit a maximum speed of weighing only 825 kg, the Kaipan 16 meets the Euro 5 standard. This car is priced at 499,000 CZK or 19,534 euros.

Kaipan has designed the 1.2TSI Czech Roadster with the Technical University of Ostrava. It is learnt that the company is developing a range extender hybrid version of this car. The hybrid version named Kaipan Tension is expected to hit the market soon. Kaipan is optimistic that this car will find takes not only in Czech Republic, but also in other European countries as well. The company is hopeful that this car will be liked by those who are willing to invest money in zero emission cars. This car is a perfect vehicle for those who want to cover short distances in zero emission vehicles. The rechargeable battery used in 1.2TSI Czech Roadster can be charged using either 240 V outlets or 110 V power source.
