The color changing ‘Allochroous Yacht’ to host concerts in the future

Allochroous Yacht is the winner of this year’s ‘Dream Boat’ title for the Millennium Yacht Design Award. Conceptualized by Ezgi Aksan, a Turkish designer, and Ambra Ceronetti, an Italian designer, Allochroous in english means ‘changing color’, and this is precisely the reason why the yacht design has been named so. The Allochroous is going to be a luxury that will serve the rich. It will be used for hosting concerts, movie premiers, even exhibitions, etc.

The most intriguing feature of the yacht is how its design allows it to switch between colors as day turns into night. This happens because the glass tiles installed change their appearance according to the temperature conditions outside. Not only color, the body of the yacht and its functionality too can be changed as desired.

It is 40 meters long and consists of three main parts, including two twin floating wings under the hull and one at the back with a motor. When the yacht is in motion, the twin wings open and float, and when stationary, these wings move inward and close against each other. This increase the weight of the yacht and it moves down. Once in this position, the yacht can be easily accessed with the help of automatic stairs.

Facilities like private bathrooms, cooking facilities and all other guest services are hosted in the lower deck. It resembles a honeycomb structure and is made out of aluminum. Sustainable energy is generated with the help of solar panels installed in the roof. The floor and the walls have been given an anti slip finish with the help of composite paneling layered with clear polycarbonate.

Although we have tried to justify the Allochroous Yacht with words, but the fact remains that the design is beyond words. From the looks, the innovative technology, the green factor, all has been subtly put together for creating this marvel for the future.
