But some people in their bid to go green and also be unique have created odd and strange looking homes here are a few examples you would like:

1. Free Spirit Spheres, Qualicum Beach, British Columbia

Now this truly is an amazing way to live. Free Spirit Spheres are the brainchild of Tom and Rosy Chudleigh. These are suspended tree houses and are made from local wood by hand. The couple recommend these for leisure, meditation, photography, wildlife photography and other activities. They call them tree houses for the adults. The Free Spirit Spheres have all the basic facilities like plumbing, electricity and insulation. The spheres can be nine to ten feet in diameter and weigh about eleven hundred pounds. They can be installed by a crew in just three days.

2. The Nautilus House, Mexico City, Mexico

The Nautilus was built for a young family that wanted something which felt more integrated with nature. This house was completed in 2006 and was envisioned by architect Javier Sensonian of Arquitectura Organica. He has many buildings to his credit, build in various shapes like snakes and whales. This is a seashell –shaped house and the steps leading to the house have shrubs and the front door blends into the colourful mosaic façade. Architect Javier Sensonian calls his style of designing bio-architecture. The Nautilus was created to imitate a crustacean’s shell, and its cavernous interior is filled with vegetation and small trees.

3. The Steel House, Lubbock, Texas

Artist and architect Robert Bruno has been at work on his steel home since 1974. This unique house is built on top of four legs as that way the architect hopes to make the least impact on the earth. Steel is long lasting and highly recyclable, so naturally green artist or builders are interested in it. When Bruno started this unique home he did not prepare any initial skeleton for it. He just kept adding to it and that is what adds to its uniqueness. From inside it does not look like a practical living space. Estimated weight of the structure is 110 tons.

4. The Sliding House, Suffolk, England

This traditional farmhouse was created by London-based dRRM Architects. What makes s this home truly unique is its flexible design. The outer shell of the house is about twenty tons and can be retracted in six minutes. The inside reveals the inner shell which is mostly glass. This design allows the owners to make maximum use of light and temperature. Power comes from four twelve-volt batteries which run a motor that pulls small wheels, built into the timber shell, along an old set of railroad tracks. It also saves energy through passive heating and cooling.

5. Bubble Dream Castle, Theoule, France

Bubble Castle was begun by Antti Lovag in 1975. The main objective of the designer was to bring the natural elements indoors, including palm trees and a water fall, and to merge the home with its natural surroundings. Many windows were designed in the house to make use of the Mediterranean sun. Today, the complex has grown tremendously and has a large reception hall, an outdoor stadium and a massive garden. What is most unique about this home is that there are no sharp angles or straight lines in its unusual design This home incorporates the outdoor rock cropping in a way that links them to the overall bubble concept. The house has already been deemed a historic monument by France’s Ministry of Culture, despite the fact that it’s not even fifty years old.
