Australia’s SARDI to produce bio-diesel from micro-algae!

With industries getting innovative along with their shifts to producing alternative fuel, Research and Development Institute (SARDI) in South Australia plans to extract alternative fuel from micro-algae. This project is a part of their one of a million-dollar research program.

The organisms are a viable source of biodiesel, as they not only contain lots of oil but can also grow year-round. SARDI seems to have banked on this source for producing biodiesel for the similar reasons.

The project is a three-year program costing nearly $1 million and the Federal Government is partly funding it.
