Eco Factor: Low-emission vehicle powered by a hybrid engine.

Zero South has built a heavily modified Hummer H1 that rides on tracks at all four corners. Designed for an expedition to the South Pole, the vehicle was originally setup to run on B99 fuel. However, the team modified the powertrain to run on electricity generated by a diesel generator.

The vehicle is now powered by a four-cylinder diesel Volkswagen engine that runs on biodiesel to generate electricity for four electric motors. Each motor then provides power to the individual track that it’s coupled to.
