World’s first pedal-powered 4WD off-road vehicle will leave you asking for more

I guess this German dude called Frank Fraune found the prevailing gas prices a little too exorbitant for his liking. So he went ahead and created the world’s first ever pedal-powered 4 wheel drive off-roader. Called the Trailcart, the vehicle is part mountain bike and part four wheeler with its 4WD powered by something like 290Nm of torque. 400mm of axle displacement make it the master of the rugged terrain while a double-action mechanical hydraulic braking system and a Shimano Nexus 8 shifter akin to what they use in the cycling major leagues, make the Trailcart a true off-roader. And if you thought the clever vehicle was just a flashy one-ff, think again. The invention is getting some serious attention from investors around the globe with Land Rover even testing the nifty vehicle at its own “obstacle park” in Wulfrath, Germany. I wonder if this thing will make it out in the real world, or better still, in the rally circuits!
