Vermont E-Classic 2300: Blowing heat in to your home!

It is pretty amazing to know how the US Forestry Department is advocating the burning of wood to make sure that it reduces the dependence on conventional electricity. I mean, burning of wood is not really as eco-friendly as one might imagine and it also means that you are adding carbon emissions to the atmosphere. It also leaves residue that will be hard to dispose off. Among those are soot and possible health complications. But now, we have a boiler that would try and do away with some of those complications.

Central Boiler’s outdoor wood furnace, E-Classic 2300 eliminates any issue related to using wood as fuel. In fact, it’s the only Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation Air Pollution Control Division certified outdoor wood surface. This means the E-Classic 2300 meets the 0.44 lbs/million Btu of heat input particulate emissions standard set by Vermont, and even meets the future requirement of 0.32 lbs/million Btu heat output. This makes the burning of wood (If you choose to do it) a lot safer and a bit more eco-friendly.

The outdoor furnace can be placed up to 500 feet away from your house. Heat travels as hot water through Thermo-PEX piping buried underground. E-Classic could also be used for heated pools and tubs and even allows you to turn your water heater off completely, if you wish, and depend upon it for hot water. The entire structure is apparently 98% efficient and knowing that the fuel is wood, I find it unbelievable. Someone better explain to me about how we get such high efficiency.
