Britain’s leading transport designer Paul Priestman of Priestmangoode has unveiled a conceptual high-speed train for the UK. Expected to be the Great British design icon, the “Mercury”, is a double-decker train with a unique interior design. The 400 meter-long train with one of the longest nose sections in the world will travel at 225mph.

A perfect combination of contemporary looks, luxury and style, the Mercury will incorporate features like traditional commuter seats designed to include in-transit entertainment system, private berths for families, private parties or business meetings, a children’s play area and lounge and bar. This first double-decker train to operate in the UK will offer low-carbon, sustainable transport.
