The undergrads at the UK’s Imperial College in London have set up to build a zero emissions fuel cell hybrid racing kart powered by hydrogen. The undertaking project is named the ‘Imperial Hybrid Racing’.
Up to 20 undergraduates are working to build a fully electric prototype, and will be ready for demonstration as Formula Student event at Silverstone in July 2007. The project has already received a high level of support, the college informed.
The project aims to establish a new zero emissions race series within the Formula Student competition for the 2008 season in the long run.
