2,000 diesel-fueled delivery vehicles of Tesco will run on a B50 — 50% bio-diesel — blend form January 2007. These B50-powered vehicles will surely cut greenhouse gas emissions by more than 70,000 tonnes per year!
According to Tesco, emissions will drop to this extent only by removing more than 20,000 medium-sized cars from the road! With also a 25% stake in biofuel producer Greenergy Fuels, it is for the past two years, Tesco has been selling B5 (5% biodiesel) and E5 (5% ethanol) blends in its filling stations.
