T3 Motion launches electric vehicles for camera operators

Folks at T3 Motion Inc, through sheer creativity and refined engineering, have announced the launch of their new electric vehicles, the T3-MT and the T-41. The two new roll outs will be revealed at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters show which will be held in Las Vegas this year. The vehicles are being targeted towards the film production market.

The cars are designed to assist camera crews during film production. They can assist Glidecam, Steadicam and other camera operators to ride in comfort and safety since the cams will be attached to the vehicle instead of the operator holding them. The technique will allow perfect production and reduce fatigue faced by operators. With the T-41, the production team will no longer need to lay down tracks while filming. Another feature it boasts of is a platform installed with a 7-inch high definition monitor and an anti-glare screen to help operators view shot images during filming. The T-41 is installed with a seat belt, two Glidecam or Steadicam mounting posts and a 360 degree rotating chair with a backrest.

The T3-MT, on the other hand, features a reverse and forward driving facility, a camera operator’s seat, and two Glidecam or Steadicam mounting posts. Lights, monitors, cameras and other accessories are powered by two 90 A/h 12 VDC batteries. The car can travel up to 12 mph with a 40 mile range and a patented swappable battery system that can be used the entire day.

The idea to manufacture such vehicles came from the video and film industry itself. When T3 Motion pacesetters asked industry experts about portable camera uses, their applications and issues, it found that present cameras are burdensome to a point that it limits effectiveness. Thus was conceived the idea for the T3-MT and the T-41 to turn things around.
