Star Trek theme park in Jordan receives a funding of $1.5 billion

Jordan will soon have a major theme park featuring a Star Trek Inspired Attraction. An amount of $1.5 billion has already been sanctioned for the development of the project. The project will be coming up in the Jordanian coastal city of Aqaba and will be spread over a 74 hectare area. Called the Red Sea Astrarium project, the theme park will consist of 17 entertainment zone and a four-star hotel among many other things.

The park is slated to open for visitors early next year. Money into this Star Trek Inspired Theme Park is being invested by various investors from the US and the Gulf region. The entertainment elements of the park will be designed by an Amman based animation firm Rubicon Group Holding, whereas the Star Trek attraction is being created by Paramount Recreation. Apart from these two firms, architectural firm Callison will also be partnering Rubicon Group Holding in the design of the entire park. The plan is to wow the audience with a 23rd century multi-sensory experience that will incorporate highly advanced visual and sound effects to give the people coming in the park a real time feel of things. The technology which will go into building the Red Sea Astrarium Park will be unlike any other and they will be truly state of the art.

The theme park will also incorporate “green technologies” to have a lower carbon footprint. The park will use renewable energy to meet its electricity needs. A futuristic pavilion will also be built where various sections of society will be educated about the importance and benefits of renewable energy sources and ecofriendly practices like graywater harvesting.

The park will have an impact on the economic front as well. It will provide employment to more than 500 highly skilled workers from the local community. The training for these workers will be carried out by Rubicon Group Holding, who are also engaged in designing the park along with other firms.
