Solar power to ‘Literally’ get into classrooms

lake washington school district

Some of Lake Washington School District‘s portable classrooms will soon experience the power of alternative energy, especially that from sun. With this venture, solar panels will be used in any district for the first on prefabricated school buildings.

The district’s pilot program will initiate with three schools, starting next school year. And it will depend on how well the panels work. If a success, panels will be installed on all portable classrooms, Forrest Miller, the district’s director of support services said.

Miller seems very optimistic with the green project as he said,

We don’t know of any other districts… using solar panels on portables in this state… If this pays off, it’ll spread like wildfire.
