Eco Factor: Low-impact shelter made affordable.

Giving a feeling of camping, the “Single Shed” is an adventure outpost located near Joseph, Oregon. Designed by Ryan Lingard, this cute little mountain cabin is sits on a mere 130 square feet area. It resides between the serene beauty of the hills and comes loaded with green features to make it an off-the-grid home.

Offering the breath-taking views of the Wallowa Lake and Mount Howard (earlier known as Signal Mountain), the Single Shed includes features like a wood stove, metal roof, cedar rainscreen, reused windows, portable toilet, and operable shutters. The beautiful interior is light up by oil lamps, while small solar chargers juice up the cell phones. The owners Mariah Morrow and Ryan Lingard required nearly $10,000 to build their petite low-impact shelter.
