Renault Zoe: An affordable, all electric everday car

Every year Renault creates different eco friendly concepts for the future and reveals them at various auto shows. In 2009 and 2010 two different versions of the electric Zoe ZE concept were unveiled but this year finally at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show 2012 Renault debuts its production ready version of the Zoe.

Zoe is the first affordable car for everyday use that is packed with the most advanced technologies of the industry. Not less than six, ‘World premier’ features that are designed to provide range, user friendliness and connectivity are included in the car. It’s the first electric vehicle with range more than 130 miles and is also equipped with a Range Optimizer, a system that improves real world range under all driving conditions. It also features a Chameleon charger, which making it capable to be charged at any power level in between 30 minutes and nine hours. The most impressive part is the price tag of the car. The car will cost £13,650 (approx US$ 21396) in United Kingdom after deducting 25 percent of car’s cost as the government incentive. In France, the car will start at €20,750 (US$27,200) and after receiving a grant of €5,000 the price will be brought down to €15,750 (US$20,648).

Zoe is the Renault’s solution to zero emission mobility for all. Apart from its attractive styling, compact size and the price tag it displays the Renaults excellence in technology. It is expected that the car will be available for sale by autumn 2012.
