Eco Factor: Low-emission vehicle powered by a hybrid engine.
The recent launch of Cayenne hybrid made Porsche’s intentions very clear and the company has now confirmed that a hybrid version of the Panamera will also be available in 2011. The Panamera Hybrid will also use the same petrol-electric powertrain as used in the Cayenne, which includes a 46bhp electric motor mated to a 329bhp supercharged 3.0-liter V6.
The full parallel hybrid system allows the vehicle to be powered by either of the two engines or a combination of both. The Panamera will be Porsche’s second regular production to be offered with a hybrid engine. The firm also aims to put its 918 Spyder Hybrid concept into production.
