New process to transform non-recyclable waste into clean syn-gas may replace UK’s polluting incinerators soon

polluting incinerators in uk 9

The incinerators have been partly responsible for polluting UK’s environment. No more worries – as the UK market will soon be hit by cutting edge waste-to-energy plants, which are not just smaller and cleaner than the incinerators, but can easily replace the polluting incinerator projects.

The new process, the plants run is capable of transforming non-recyclable waste into a clean syn-gas. The clean syn-gas is used for generating clean power and a high-strength building material. To add to the plants’ environment-friendly way of functioning, they themselves are powered by the syn-gas, which they produce.

With carbon-neutral being very low in emissions, the plants are around a third of the size of incinerators. The Gasplasma process can challenge incinerators on a number of counts, as Andrew Hamilton, CEO of Advanced Plasma Power claimed. This company has patented this new clean syn-gas producing process.

Hamilton said,

The trick here for us has been the combination of gasification and plasma. The benefit of combining these two existing technologies is that you substantially reduce the power requirements, and that transforms the economics of the process.
