Eco Factor: Zero-emission vehicle powered by electricity.
Mitsubishi Motors Corp and Yamato Transport Co Ltd has started a field test of an electric pickup and delivery vehicle that has been prototyped by Mitsubishi Motors. The vehicle has been deployed in Yamato Transport’s Delivery center in Tokyo.
Based on Mitsubishi’s gasoline-powered Minicab Van, the EV uses lithium-ion rechargeable batteries that are also being used in the company’s i-MiEV electric vehicle. Mitsubishi plans to obtain feedback from the field test and aims at an early commercialization of the commercial electric light van.
