Eco Factor: Zero-emission vehicle powered by electricity.
Four small companies in Kansai region have developed a three-wheeled electric vehicle. The vehicle adopts a traditional Japanese form and can seat up to three passengers. The steel vehicle has two doors made of “Washi”, which have been coated with vermilion lacquer.
Though traditional on the outside, the vehicle features modern electric drive technologies, such as lithium-ion batteries that can be charged using home electrical outlets. Produced at the cost of about $25,000 the vehicle can hit a top speed of 40kph.
