A 40-foot hybrid-electric fuel-cell-powered transit bus may soon be seen running on the roads of the Greater Hartford (Connecticut) Transit District in revenue service. The contract for this supply is made with UTC Power of South Windsor, Conn.
UTC Power will also be supporting a program for two years. It also includes the use of a hydrogen refueling station. To support future fuel cell transportation projects in Greater Hartford, the Federal Transit Administration will pay a $2.9 million grant to the Greater Hartford Transit District for the bus and infrastructure.
Once the bus arrives in Hartford, CTTRANSIT will operate them.
