UK getting organic fast! Sales of organic produce here have leaped 30% in a year, which now worth £1.6bn annually. It is only in the last year, all the leading supermarkets have rapidly expanded their organic food range. Demand for the products has also increased dramatically.
Tesco informs that its organic fruit and vegetable sales were growing by 70%. One in three of its shoppers now buy some organic produce for sure, a spokeswoman says. And Asda was aiming to sell 1,000 organic lines by Christmas, and hence doubling the size of its range.
