Future player’s bench: An ergonomic bench integrated with solar powered refrigerator

Future Player's Bench

Whether we like it or dislike it, sports do form an intrinsic part of our lives. And even going beyond the emotional essence, many highly rated sporting events and clubs draw revenues in figures of magnificent proportions. So it’s only a matter of time that our bubbling ‘green’ technology oriented domain makes its foray into this thriving ‘industry’ of sorts. Going along this thought process, designer Geoffrey Graven has contrived the solar powered ‘Future Player’s’ rest-bench for Roland Garros (French Open) tennis participants.

Basically a bench integrated with a small refrigerator, the true quality of the conception hinges on the ‘green’ side of affairs. This diminutive refrigerator will be powered by a photovoltaic panel and will be used for storing snacks and bottles. To enhance upon the degree of user-friendliness (or in this case player friendliness), the fridge mechanism will come with an illuminated touch pad and automated sliding doors. Moreover, the system also allows the user to regulate the interior temperature.

Coming to the bench structure, the ergonomic setting will be divided into two spatial parts by the central refrigerator unit. The bigger part on the left side can be used as a player seat, while the right side can be used for bags. The back-rest plank will also incorporate a soft silicon racket holder (on the top of the fridge). So, overall the whole conception will feature elements related specifically to player’s convenience, albeit fused with dollops of sustainability.
