Preparing’synthesis gas’ by heating oil and sugar like mixture! Scientists at the University of Minnesota have developed a process of creating the syngas that doesn’t need fossil fuels in the making process. To add to, this new technology makes the whole process 10 times to 100 times faster than current technology!
Thus, in the world where commercial demands for alternative fuels are soaring the concerns for pollution related climate change is increasing; this process meets both these ends perfectly – by producing faster and without using fossil fuel.
According to team leader Lanny Schmidt, a professor of chemical engineering and materials science at the university’s Minneapolis campus, this new process can help convert cheap, worthless biomass into useful fuels and chemicals!
That itself sounds pretty environment-friendly.
