One building of the 133-room hotel is wrapped in murals by New York artist Yuan Lee. And, one of these is wetlands nature scene and the other portrays the four seasons in the Napa Valley – bringing nature indoors.
The hotel is constructed with responsibly harvested “new growth” wood, also making extensive use of solar power and techniques for conserving water, energy and other materials in its ongoing operations.
While the outside walls of the lobby are covered with recycled corrugated metal, the shower-and-sink water is recycled in the ponds and landscaping.
Solatubes or tubular skylights are used to light the rooms that capture sunlight from the rooftop and direct it down a shaft, diffusing it throughout the interior space. The heat and cold are regulated naturally! The air quality is also maximized by using low emission paints and adhesives.
