Eco Factor: Lamborghini plans to develop photovoltaic plant at Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.
Till now the only words associated with Lamborghini were speed, thrill, performance and power but the latest word to be associated with the car manufacturer is “Green”. The company has announced that they will be modifying their vehicles to lower their carbon emissions by as much as 35% by 2015.
Apart from greener cars, the company is also constructing a large photovoltaic plant at their Sant’Agata Bolognese factory which will reduce CO2 emission from their production processes by 20% by 2010. The 17,000-sq-meter PV array is expected to produce 1,583MW of electrical power and will be switched on next year.
With no stopping the car manufacturer is also hinting towards new technologies that will improve engine combustion, make the cars lighter, reduce friction and the will use hybrid solutions to better the efficiency of cars to reduce emissions even further.
