Eco Factor: Hand-cranked LED light to help keep bicyclists safe.
Riding a bike is great, but if you’re riding on an open highway after dark without any illumination at your disposal you’re simply risking your own life. There are many LED lights available for bicycles, but like all portable gadgets those too need a portable power source, which might not always be available.
Industrial designer Alix Armour has tried to figure out a way to keep bicyclists safe and self-dependent even if they’re riding in the middle of the night. The product developed by Alix is called the Zumo, which is based on a normal hand-cranked LED flashlight. The modifications allow the flashlight to be mounted on any bike frame, which can then be cranked for a few minutes for illumination.
