Eco Factor: Solar Park capable of generating more than 1500MW of electric power.

Yesterday news from Australian media surfaced that the government is planning to build the world’s largest solar power plant, and today we have similar news coming in from Argentina. The provincial government has authorized the development of the largest solar energy park in Latin America, which will be built in the western Argentinian province of San Juan.

The $120 million power plant is slated to be operational by the summer of 2010. Once completed, the plant is projected to produce between 1500 and 2400MW of energy, which would make it the largest in Southern and Latin America. A pilot project would be built on about 12 acres of land, which would then be increased in September.
