Eco Factor: Concept scooter powered by electricity.

The Scout, or Short Commute with Urban Transportation, aims to keep your short rides green and clean using an electric engine. Designed by industrial designer Vyasateja Rao, the Scout is a scooter that can be made available via a vending system, which encourage tourists and routine commuters to reduce their carbon footprint with ease.

The scooter has been designed to be compact with the addition of modern technologies, which benefit both the daily commuters and tourists. The scooter can be placed at different locations in a city, and is designed with a base system which has the controls and screen to act as an interface. The system reflects more than six different languages to make the machine truly global.

The user is made to enter his journey details and is charged on his or her credit card. It also shows the places of interest on the way and familiarizes the user with the unique culture of the city. Once the details are entered, the machine unlocks one scooter, which also informs you of the places of interest on the way. Users can also enter their wish list in the system and the Scout gets you the best price on it.

The electric scooter is meant for a short ride, so we don’t expect to see great figures in the range and top speed, but since it’s designed for a global audience, the scooter does offer easy recharging from any conventional wall outlet.
