EcoFactor: Upcycled furniture crafted from salvaged trash and wood stumps designed by &made help spread the concept of recycling with unique new designs.

For modern designers, very little constitutes waste as they are finding new ways, shapes and forms to utilize anything and everything to create something useful. Recycling and reuse are catching on fast across the design world and a studio in London named &made has brought out a collection of furniture titled “Lost and Found” showcasing the value of recycling. Most of the designs in this series are nothing beyond upcycled furniture, and they are crafted out of salvaged trash and tree stumps. The discarded old stands are used as bases for stools and tables and tree stumps are used as tops. The brightly colored stands really give them a very unique and outlandish look.

The design intends to send out the message of how much of what could be useful to us is lost in the waste but finds a purpose for itself in the lap of nature. Simple designs by &made really aim at making us think deeply about our lifestyle and our relationship with nature that surrounds us.

The Dark Side:

From a pure design and look point of view, these stools and tables would never make it anywhere near my home. The bright base and the tree stump almost make a ghastly pairing.
