Eco Factor: Direct Methanol Fuel cell batteries by Samsung.
Instead of claiming batteries that can power your laptop for months without a recharge, Samsung is making humble claims this time with their newest Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC), set for release in 2010. The fuel-cell provides 1800 watt-hours without a recharge, which is enough to power a notebook for three days. Sadly enough, the fuel cell battery is for military use and might take a few more years to hit the shelves.
The Dark Side:
Apart from being military-only, the battery weighs around 3.5 kilograms, which could have been reduced for increased usability.
