Solar-powered lighting system concepts are plenty, they come in different shapes and sizes to suit individual needs. While some are ready to grace your indoors with sustainable curtains of light, others simply need the user to install them in gardens where they can capture sunlight without much problem. Industrial designer J Merla Laguna has designed an outdoor lighting system that carries blended solar panels over its curved surface, which allows it to harness solar energy all through the day.
Dubbed NUUB, the lighting system utilizes on-board solar panels to charge the batteries that the system is equipped with. Having a well ventilated design allows the PV modules to generate the maximum possible energy, without any rise in temperature. The batteries of the system are placed in its base, which gives it stability to stand tall even if it’s windy outside. The on-board batteries fuel a pack of LEDs, which are mounted inside a highly reflective convex structure.
