Eco Factor: Lighting system powered by solar energy.
Across the world candles are used to make any occasion special and bright. However, most candles are made from paraffin, which is a petroleum byproduct and when lit, it releases a large amount of soot into the air which contains several toxins. In a bid to grace your occasions with light without swelling your carbon footprint, Jinwoo Han has developed the Damda.
The sustainable candle alternative is designed with built-in solar panels, which provide enough energy to keep the light glowing for up to 11 hours. Damda features a removable base, which can be used to allow its users to write a message for a friend or a loved one that becomes visible when the light is turned on.
The Dark Side:
Considering the present cost of solar panels, Damda is set to be an extremely expensive alternative to a normal candle.
