Eco Factor: Gardens to occupy 101 hectares of prime land in Singapore.

Grant Associates and Gustafson Porter have won an international competition to design the Gardens by the Bay that will occupy 101 hectares of land by the water near Marina Bay. The Bay South by Grant Associates, located next to the Marina Bay integrated resort, will also become the largest garden at 54 hectares.

The Conservatory Complex will feature a “Cool Moist” biome and a “Cool Dry” biome that will include plants and flowers from the Tropical Montane and the Mediterranean environments respectively. The tree-like “Supertree” sculptures will be up to 55m in height and will serve as uniquely designed vertical gardens.

The Bay East will be 32 hectares in size and include water gardens with terraces, a Boat House Piazza and an educational center that will teach in an interactive manner, the relationship between plants, animals and water in an ecosystem.
