The worse part of a post-surgical period is the pain that follows. But what is worrying are the commonly used drugs, which are either ineffective or are having too many side effects. Here is a painkiller that has nearly no side effects when used in smaller dose – it is a cannabis plant extract. It is effective even for patients of major surgery.
Named Cannador, the ‘cannabinoids’ can be used to produce a wide range of drugs to help manage post-operative pains – which generally continues to be a problem.
Though if taken in larger amount, the possibility of side effects, such as nausea and increased heart rate can be increased, the use of this plant extract to make a wide range of medicines will surely increase. Under licence from the UK government, the GW Pharmaceuticals — a Salisbury-based firm — is developing the cannabis-based medicines, or say it organic drugs.
