Still a producer of alternative energy, Ormat Industries Ltd. recently won an interesting contract, albeit small. It is because, it is connected to solar energy production, which uses photovoltaic cell technology. To encourage solar energy electricity production, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) has decided to produce part of its power from the sun. APS is the state’s largest electricity company.
Even though it is a small scale project — producing only one MwH — this is the first of its kind in Arizona. Ormat Industries Ltd. is to supply equipment for its establishment.
