Even though the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games still hasn’t commenced, London is gearing up from now onwards only and trying to come up with numerous solutions to deal with the demands of the 2012 Olympic Games. Today I came across this concept of Thames solar shuttle, a solar powered boat which is still in conceptual stage. It is understood that London’s Thames River is as excellent opportunity for ecological transport alternatives. Also it is touted to be an ideal location to harness maximum amount of solar energy. 
Working on these two aspects, SolarLab Research and Design has started work on a number of proposals for green river shuttles that could inspire greater usage of the Thames. Particularly to cope up with the increased transport demands of the 2012 Olympic Games. Still on paper, this 255 passenger eco-friendly river shuttle for the Thames promises to help our environment along with those seeking to enjoy the Olympics four years later. Intending to make its mark in the chase to make our planet more green, this solar powered boat is estimated to decrease the production of 9 tons of carbon-dioxide every year. Though not much is mentioned about its precise eco features, I’m sure its completely solar powered and will be touted as the most advanced eco-friendly passenger ferry on British waters
