Eco Factor: Energy-saving ceiling lamp.
Panasonic has launched a new and energy-efficient way to light up your interiors. The round ceiling light is equipped with sensors controlled by a microprocessor, which calculate ranges and degrees of reflection to alter the lamp’s luminance output precisely, thus preventing any undesired waste of energy.
The ambient light sensor scans an area of 10 feet in diameter and adjusts the light’s luminance accordingly. The changes are so fast and accurate that they are virtually undetectable. The company claims that the lamps can reduce power consumption by as much as 60%. The lamps are available in two variants, an 89-watt HHFZ4320 to be priced at $387 and a cheaper 74-watt HHFZ4220 to retail for $354.
The Dark Side:
Keeping energy savings aside, the lamp costs much more than what most people would like to spend. However, with the claimed savings of 60%, that extra cost could well be earned back.
