Eco Factor: New system by General Electrical Co. aims to help consumers save energy.

In an effort to make consumers learn their energy spending behavior and eventually help them save it, General Electric Co. has announced a new system dubbed “Net Zero Energy Home”, which will be a combination of energy saving appliances, efficient lighting system and renewable power generators in a single package.

The system will feature photovoltaic and thin-film solar cells which accompanied by hi-tech energy storage products, will help consumers save power. The home energy manager will inform consumers about real time pricing of electricity, which will encourage them to use energy-intensive appliances, like dishwashers, only when electricity is cheap.
