Eco Factor: New solar electric system to reduce 7.6 million pounds of carbon emissions yearly.

In an effort to utilize renewable energy and improve energy efficiency, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has recently awarded SunWize Systems the contract to design and install a 3.003 MW DC solar electric system in Arizona. Planned for VA’s Phoenix Medical Center in Phoenix, the project will expand a 630 kW carport system currently under construction.

When the second phase of the project is completed, the system will be the largest photovoltaic (PV) carport installation in the U.S. It is expected that on completion, the installation will generate over 5.7 million kilowatt-hours of green energy annually, which is sufficient to power over 600 homes. The system will bring down carbon emissions by 7.6 million pounds annually.
