With the increase in the population worldwide there is a need to develop innovative ways to live, to cover up as little space as possible so that the earth can also be shared by other animals existing on it. One such technique is to erect a big building and live in flats. But that was a novice thought. Now is the era of sky scrapers, a large multi – storey building mainly for commercial use.

Here is a list of 15 most eco – friendly skyscrapers proposed for a green future :

1) Personal green skyscraper

The “Antilia” house which is the proposed personal house skyscraper of Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man, is one among the 15 eco-friendly skyscrapers proposed for a greener future. Ambani’s skyscraper is measured to be equivalent to a 60 – storey building but in reality, the building will have only 27 – stories, which means larger ceilings than the standard.

2) Feng – Shui Mountain Architecture

Seeing the population rising at a large rate and being the number one in the population of the world, some Feng – Shui architects from Shenzhen, China decided not to build communities horizontally, rather expand them vertically which they call as the ” vertical city “. China has already proved that it has been the foremost nation in any field. With the development of vertical city, China will prove its positioning to be the next world’s supreme power.

3) Vertical Eco – Farm

The United States is no less than any other nation in doing an innovation and becoming a pioneer in the field. Las Vegas, one of the most populous city of the United States has been working on a project worth $200 million. The project is to build the world’s first vertical farm. At thirty storeys, it is the tallest in the world. The building will be able to grow enough crops to feed 72,000 people for a year.

4) Vertical gardens

Recently, the vertical gardens project has been completed outside of the Athenaeum hotel in London, England. The project was proposed and completed by Patrick Blanc. The garden is measured to be 8 storeys high.

5) Skyscraper greenhouses

The latest Dubai’s metropolis project is the Seawater Vertical Tower. It is said that this tower will act as a greenhouse. The tower will use the sea water to cool the greenhouse and to irrigate the crops. The design of the building looks similar to a tree with various branches. The project’s main aim is to make Dubai more self – sufficient.

6) High – rise parks

Another green skyscraper project is the vertical city being built in Mexico City. The main aim of the project is to reduce smog challenges of the city and also to reduce the population pressure. The vertical city will also be used to collect solar and water energy and encourage urban farming.

7) The Lighthouse

This green skyscraper is a project that will soon start its construction in Dubai. The Lighthouse is a project that involves collection of both wind as well as solar energy. The design will have wind turbines to collect wind energy and solar panels to collect solar energy.

8) Green Indian Skyscraper

The Kohinoor Skyscraper is a design which is aimed to rejuvenate urban development in Mumbai, India. The towers are 33 storeys tall. The designing firm makes the design greener by using sustainable elements and systems, such as intelligent facade designs, alternative energy usage etcetera.

9) Stacked skyscrapers

Another skyscraper design in Chongquing, China reveals a stacked design. The Urban Forest, being built by MAD Architects will look like a mountain when it will complete. The building is said to be 70 floors tall and will be for commercial and residential use.

Architect Joanna Borek-Clement’s skyscraper design Sky – Terra Towers look like neurons present in a cell. The design is forecast to become the cities of future. The skyscraper have an upper layer of existing cityscape having public parks, pools etc and will be network shaped.

11) Bug – styled vertical farms

The Dragonfly vertical farm concept which will be constructed in the New York City is deemed to provide enough food and renewable energy to the area people. The concept is 128 floors high and has a look of a giant bug.

12) Evolved Ecotecture

The design Zuidkas Sustainable Skyscraper by Paul de Ruiter is a design which is based to create an area to minimize the waste and conserve energy. The Zuidkas design is the rooftop gardens that will be the biggest part of the sustainable part of the design. The structure will be glass encased.

13) Rotating skyscrapers

Mexico’s New Twin Towers will be the skyscrapers which will be built to celebrate Mexico’s two hundred years of independence. The towers are so cleverly designed that they mimic each other in shape as well as movement. The two towers are named – Tezozomoc and Xochimilco.

14) Green Skyscrapers

The Chicago Clean Technology Tower is the green skyscraper which was designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill. The tower will be built in Chicago and will be an energy – efficient structure which will get its energy produced from wind turbines. Wind energy is deemed to be the cleanest and most sustainable way of generating energy and that is what this skyscraper does.

15) Econic Skyscrapers

The Rodderham City Tower designed by Monolab is a green skyscraper that will use photovoltaic glass which will capture the sunlight and use it to power the structure. The tower will be self – sufficient and will not require any outside energy to work.
