This low emission green car is used by German police for patrolling. Opel Ampera makes very less sound when moving and it can move at a good speed. This car requires very less maintenance and is powered by electric motor. The range of this car is around 50 miles in electric-only mode. The range of the 1.4 liter gasoline engine of this car is around 310 miles. This 4-seater car is spacious enough to accommodate five passengers comfortably.
3. Mitsubishi i-MiEV
This eco friendly car with a stylish look is used by the Thames Valley Police in the UK to take care of the ‘non emergency’ police duties near the Milton Keynes city center. This car derives energy from a 16 kWh Li-ion battery pack, which is fitted under the base floor. This electric vehicle with a range of 160 km can touch a top speed of 130kmph.
4. Schnitzer Police MINI E R56
This eco friendly car is used by German police for normal patrolling duties. Powered by a 150 kW electric motor, the maximum torque generated by this car is 220 Nm. This car can hit a top speed of 152 km/h. It can accelerate from zero to 100kmh in just 8.5 seconds. The range of this car in all-electric mode is 240 km during test drive and around 180 km when on road. This car has got a sleek and stylish look and it can comfortably carry four passengers.

This eco friendly car is the first fuel cell–powered vehicle to be used by police. The Wayne State University police are using this vehicle for supervisory purposes inside and around the campus. The battery back works well for around five years, but this car should not be used in rainy season because the electrical circuits can get damaged due to water.
